Fee Policies

Kelly Psychiatric Associates

ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Rate adjustments typically take place on a yearly basis.  If you are a current patient, you will be provided with at least 30 days advance notice before such a change.

THERAPEUTIC HOUR

Kelly Psychiatric Associates charges by the 50-minute "therapeutic hour" (or 25 minute "half-hour"). This is standard for virtually all mental health providers, though if you have concerns you should feel free to contact us directly to discuss.

RATE COMPARISON

We feel that it is critical that you approach us as an educated consumer.  If you have looked for psychiatrists in the area before, you will know that the vast majority do not participate with insurance.  You will also know that, compared to many board certified child and adolescent psychiatrists with a UCLA faculty appointment, our rates are at or below the current market.  We feel that this reflects our philosophy of providing the absolute best psychiatric care to the largest possible number of patients in need.

CANCELLATIONS

When you make an appointment, that time is reserved solely to focus on you and your care. It is not available to any other patients. Should you miss an appointment, our doctor will attempt to contact you to make certain you are all right, and to reschedule.Any no-shows or cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will be charged at the normal rate for the given visit.

CPT CODES

Insurance companies use specific codes, called CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, to determine billing and repayment.  So that you may use our Superbills for insurance reimbursement, our billing team tirelessly remains on top of the latest changes to these codes to ensure the maximum repayment for your out of pocket expenses.  Some CPT codes will be listed on your bill without an associated charge and are used for documentation or record keeping purposes.  Please note that you should never be surprised by a charge – if something does not look correct on your bill, please call me so that we can discuss and potentially remove it!

FORM OF PAYMENTS

Our practice accepts payment in the form of cash, check or credit card.  Even if you choose to pay for your routine visits with cash or check, you will still need to leave a credit card on file with our office. This card will never be charged without your knowledge, and will be used for such eventualities as missed appointments or returned checks.
